Question [SOLVED] 2.5 broke my wireless sync

I had wireless sync working beautifully on 2.3. After the upgrade to 2.5, Zune says "connecting to pc..." and finally says cant connect and to check and see if I have logged in.

Any ideas !

Try uninstalling with unzoone and reinstalling.

Disable the wireless sync, then re-set it up

i haven't tried wireless sync with 2.5 yet, but i noticed after the update that it keeps syncing over and over again continuously. it will sync from 0-100% and then start over again. did it for about 10-15 mins. until i closed the software. not sure what the deal is.

@gregory616 - I will try that.
@soccerfreak24 - tried that, no luck. tried even the device reboot after that. no luck.
@teamgood - I saw on zune.net a write up by one of the developers on Zune client team that they have updated the software to seek out and update the tags and album art. He says they didn't want to do it in one shot because it takes a long time esp if the metadata is in bad shape. So they do it in slices...and every time the software updates the tags..it queues it for device sync...

he suggests keeping the zune software on for quite a few hours after the install for it to "sweep" thru your collection.

I think it's true because I have been seeing new album art on my songs in zune that was not present y'day.

Got it working !!

Ok. I went to wireless setup and tried to set it up again, but it failed saying can't detect wireless. So I went and checked the services and saw that only Zune Network Sharing was listed. The other two "Zune Wireless Configuration service" and "Zune Bus Enumerator" were missing.

So I went ahead and uninstalled zune. To install back, since the setuppkg never works for me, I unzipped it and installed zune fresh from "Zune-x86.msi" directly.

That put back all the three services and the wireless config went smooth. Then I tried the wireless sync and like clock work, Zune was detected and now it's syncing.

One thing I should mention though, Zune Bus Enumerator service is setup to run with an IIS user account. not sure why but it never runs. The moment I switch it back to Local system account it works fine. But not sure about any security issues here. Anybody aware of this ?

Got it to work without re-install of zune 2.5 software. I read on some
sync related post that I could reboot the PC to fix the problem.

Sounded like a typical windows solution, so I tried that. That fixed
my problem of not being able to wirelessly sync using zune 2.5

Cheers

Matt
