Zune 80G sync process

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Zune will resume the sync process if it is stopped before it is finished? My music library is in a in a WMA Lossless format and it is taking FOREVER for the Zune sofware to convert and sync to the Zune. I would have left it in the lossless format but it won't all fit. I would also appreciate if anyone could tell me what file type the Zune software converts it to?
