Alternative to Zune software?

Is there any alternative to using the stock Zune software, my zune is already unlocked, but i really HATE syncing since i have my music over the network and i don't want that if i should ever remove it from there to somewhere else, it might delete them (as it does my wallpapers unless i have them forever and ever). Same goes with movies im converting for it....

Does this software require syncing? I'm a bit confused about the tutorial.

All i want is something that doesn't require a hard copy on my PC to validate what's on the Zune, otherwise deleting it...
