My Zune 80 is being completely unresponsive. I was showing my friend some music he may like, so he was listening and I was scrolling through songs. As I came to a song I wished to play, and just before I pressed play, the Zune stopped responding to all button inputs. The screen still works fine;the album art and everything else was still displayed, and it dimmed normally. When I plugged it in at home, the battery was dead, but it started up like it normally does and started syncing. I unplugged it to check to see if it was working, but the screen got stuck on, "connected" and I got an error message in the Zune software saying it was not responding. I closed the dialogue box and plugged my Zune back in, but the software is not recognizing it anymore.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? |

Try a hard reset
Reset your zune, Back+Up or Back+Down then turn on your zune When you see the boot up screen, press Back+Left+center, then reconnect your zune, and re-install your firmware(This will delete all the media on your device) Let us know if this helps

Sounds like a hardware error at this point. Call 877-GET-ZUNE for free repair.

Um... you should do a full reset.
1) Discharge your zune battery until it no longer respond. This will reset the zune's hardware. 2) Reload the firmware by using the following key combination: back + center + left and connecting it to the computer afterwards.
