Default EDITING FILES

A lot of time I'll rename an artist and it will still be in the Unknow Artist file or whatever the original artist was even though it has the new artist to it. The only way I can fix it is to convert the file into another MP3 and replace it. Is there a way to do this in the Zune software?

When you rename the artist remove it from the zune software then re-added it.

Also use a meta editor to edit song info not the zune software itself.

Try mp3tag.

Yeah I suggest you edit the tags like the name/artist/album of your songs with a program like mp3tag. Just google it and download it. Then take it off the zune software. Use the song with mp3tag. Click on that song and edit the songs tags. Once your done editing it, press save. And their you go your song is edited. Then just add the song to the software and sync to your zune again. if you got any problems with this just drop me a pm or reply back here.

ok, bear with me, guys, I'm still learning the software. When you say re-add it do you mean right click and sync with zune in the software or do you do it outside the software?

I would run the media reset tool. But that is what they mean by re-add.

I use the mp3tag to change the artist, but it's still staying as the original. I don't get it.

You must click save. Also remove the files from the zune sofware and then add it back when you've changed it.

I use Musicbrainz Picard to do all my tagging. I tried MP3Tag but for some strange reason it kept wanting to incorrectly rename my songs. Weird.

That's another thing I don't get. How do you add them back after they're deleted? Where is this media reset tool?
