I've searched the forum extensively and probably read 20 threads on compilation albums, but none of them covered this.
I have a compilation album. The album artist is set to "various". The artist field is set for each track to the actual artist. I DO NOT have the problem that most people have where the album is listed multiple times. What's annoying me is that each of the individual artists show up under "Artists" on the zune, but not in the zune software. I do not want the individual artists to show up on the zune, but just "various". I still want to be able to tell who the artist is for a particular track when its playing though. Is there a way around this without setting the artist tag for each track to various? Last edited by dipdeol : 03-15-2008 at 01:08 PM. Reason: na ![]() |

um..ok. Is there something wrong with how I have formatted them? And yes, I have read http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/gen...g-library.html
"Albums that really buck the trend are compilation discs (ex. Best of the 70's) and Soundtracks. Typically, with these I set the artist to Various Artist for the Album and make sure the Contributing Artist has the correct Artist information." Last edited by dipdeol : 03-15-2008 at 01:09 PM. ![]() |

#1 I bet you the info is showing up in the software, it does on mine. However, it shows up next to the song as pictured below. ![]() If your software window isn't maximized or laid out in a way that will display that info then it'll look like it's not there but if your tags are formatted as you said, it'll look exactly as it does in that picture.

that right. I should have been more clear. It shows up next to the song like in your screenshot, but the artists do not show up in the artists list on the very left. This is what I want on the zune. If all I have is one compilation album, I only want to see one artist in the artist list. I see 1 in the software, but many on the device.

on the device go to settings-music-artists- then change it to album only
