[SOLVED] Zune 8gb (v2) can't be hacked for asian characters?

Is this accurate? I've been trying to following the hacking guides for the last 6 hours to no avail until I saw somebody mentioning only the 30 gb could be hacked... so I'm SOL with an unreadable mp3 player?

You can only hack the 30GB, you could try returning your Zune.

Are all your music Asian music?
You can rename them into words like how they sound. For Chinese it's called Ping Yin.

It was a gift, so I can't return it. Almost all of my music is either Chinese or Korean... I don't want to go through and romanize 2500 songs either, though, since it would lose all meaning. It's utterly insane that a product that came out so recently wouldn't support unicode.

It was a gift from a client who was leaving, and gave it to me as a parting gift. I guess I'll just hope for a hack/firmware to come out.

You could always sell it to a friend or online then use the $$ to buy a zune 30gb, then you can use the hack on your zune 30.

but then why not consider buying something else instead of a zune 30? 30 is old...

i totally feel you..
i got my Zune 80 and did the hack for like 2 days until i find that it only works on the old Zune. XD
all my songs are Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. although i do romanize all of my kor/jap songs. but romanzing chinese is just useless o_O so basically ive been staring at squares for awhile now. trying to guess whats the song title that is playing. hah.

I've heard that they're currently working on the Unicode "issue", hopefully this will get resolved with the next update.

Where did you hear that they're (and by "they're" I'm assuming you mean Microsoft since you refer to an update) working on the Unicode issue?
