My Zune screen has gone black

I bought my Zune in December, the first 2 months of use was good, then my screen goes blank (by this i mean the back light is on but the screen is all out just black) so i drain out the battery and then recharge and i can see my screen again; my screen goes black like once a week or 1 every other week.
But now, it is black and wont change... i drained the battery like 5 times but i still have the black screen does anyone know whats going on here??? i can still listen to music but i cant see which song, album, artist it is not can i watch movies anymore... i tried rebooting it (didn't work)
anyone got some advice for me???

should i just send it out to Zune for a new one???

Delete the firmware and re-install.

yep do a hard reset and see what it does.

If the hard reset does nothing, call 877-GET-ZUNE for a free repair.

how do i do delete firmware and reinstall it???

Sync your zune up to your computer. Open zune software up, go to settings, then device and choose the option to wipe your zune clean. WARNING THIS WILL DELETE ALL CONTENT OFF YOUR DEVICE! After that just sync unhook your zune then hook it up again to your computer, then you should get the option to download the firmware over again for your zune. Then after that just sync your songs and vids, etc.. again. Hopefully this hard reset will fix your problem. If not call Microsoft and send it in for repairs.

i didnt get the option to download the frimware.. is there a manual way to do it???

Sync your zune to software, then go to device status, and click on start sync. If I'm right the software should realize that your zune has no firmware and then ask you to download/update the firmware.

By any chance it did wipe the firmware right...like when you press vids or songs on your zune device itself you get a message saying something like sync with your computer right???..

thats the thing i can see anything on my ZUNE... it is completely black... i can only know wats happening through the clicks i hear
