Make sure it's in the right format.
.wmv or .mp4

Try doing what Jon said, then doing a hard reset and resynching everything.

I believe ppl have been having issues w/ mp4s I could be wrong, but I'd just stick to wmv, I've had no issues using that format.

The mp4 is a container. You must use MPEG4 or H.264 codec for your mp4 videos. Remember, the bitrate must be under 1.5mbit/s for mp4 videos. You'll get much better video result if you use .wmv container using .wmv 9 codec.

Zune 80 supports 3mbit/s .wmv. You could follow my guide for using windows media encoder to convert your videos to .wmv "format". Be aware that my guide is for zune 30 (1.5mbit/s). You'll get better result if you increase the maximum bitrate to 3mbit/s.

ya. The MP4 will sometimes do this. It just freezes or dies. Its because the encoding is a little weird at that spot. Same thing can happen with WMV. If it does that, you can always try converting it to a new format, then back, or just WMV-MP4 or vice-versa.

Possibly because of the format and bitrate.

I don't recommend converting from format to format. It'll degrade the videoquality, waste time, waste electricity and waste your confidenc and your eagerness to watch the movie.

My guess the problem lies in the bitrate setting. The absolute maximum bitrate for mp4 for zune 80 is 1.5mbit/s.

Are you a computer illiterate person or do you have skills in the computer area? What software are you currently using for converting?

Do you mind downloading a free program called Super?

the link is here

If you're a newbie, use the "microsoft-zune" preset under the output container. Make sure you set video bitrate to above 600kb/s and aduio bitrate to above 128kb/s for acceptable quality.

If you're not a newbie, use the .wmv container.
Use these options: Wmv container, wmv8 and wma codec

Video: 320x240 + 4;3 for 4:3 videos
320x180 + 16:9 for widescreen movie/video.
Framerate: use the same framerate as the original video. TO find out the framerate of the original video, double click the video in the job list-> advanced.
Bitrate: 2976kb/s is the maximum you can go before the zune freezes. Normally, 1500kb/s~ video is perfect.
Options: check hi Quality and 49K audio. Click Other options, check deinterlace, make a single jpg snapshot at "x" seconds (adjust this number to show the title of the movie)

Audio:
sampling freq 48000,
channel 2,
bitrate 128kb/s and up (i normally use variable bitrate, but super doesn't support it, 128kb/s is acceptable),

After you've converted movie to .wmv format, then use zMeta to set its category to "movie section". Sync the video and it should be on the zune read to be watched.

If you think the above method are not enough for you, you can follow my guide using Windows Media Encoder. It's a lot more complex, but also gives better result. If you have a dual core or quadcore processor, the encoding will take 1/2 or 1/4 of the time. Time is money!

My tutorial is here:
http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/tut...es-faster.html

May I ask what your title " MOD. Preview" is for? Do you preview moderators?
