Might be a defect..or battery issue. Your going to have to call Microsoft to send it in for repairs. Also on of my cousins had a problem like this, we thought his zune overheated... so we let it sit next to a fan for like 10 hours while we let the battery drain itself. Also is the battery completely drained..if so let it drain! I read about if you let the zune's battery drain completely and then charge it again it will like reset it'self. Not sure if this is right but it's worth a try, either way you got nothing to lose. Because your zune could be dead, and your most definently going to have to call Microsoft to send it in for repair. Good luck!

Really Jack, i havent noticed

If it is getting hot, don't plug it back in. either take it back to where you purchased it or call M$, which is supposed to be a last resort option because M$ don't usually answer phones right away

Are you using genuine zune charger or a after market charger?

like i said, make sure that isn't charging with the backlight off. That is what happened to me. If it is doing that, just wait about 30 mins and it will come on some time before that.
