Default Lags, resets, no data

Hey guys-

It looks like this is becoming more and more of a problem for people. I hope msoft hasn't put out the xbox360 of mp3 players. Here's my dilemma:

Trying to go to the next song, the zune will freeze. After letting it unfreeze (can take about 5-15 minutes), the zune will reset itself. When it does come back, there is *no content* whatsoever. Music, pictures, video--nothing can be found on the unit. If you go to the "about" meun on the zune, it still displays how full your zune is. I keep mine at about 40-50 gb.

After several soft resets, hard resets, and firwmare uploads...I'm lost. Weird, since the problems have only occured as of this past month, and i've had the unit since it came out. All signs point to shoddy craftsmanship. I hope the problem doesn't become more common in the coming weeks...but just a quick browse thru these forums and its becoming obvious that it will. ::sigh::

Have you considered calling Zune Support on the matter?

yeah man, I had the same problem, and I couldn't figure out why. I just tried a hard reset, we'll see how that goes I guess.

if nothing works after doing the hard reset or reset(s).... then you have to call microsoft.. and tell them about it.. they'll send you a fedex box or something.. and send it to them.. which will take about 2-4 weeks for them to either repair it or send you another zune instead..

Well from what you say about all the things you have already done, all I can suggest is calling in Microsoft and sending it in for repairs. Like runtohell said they'll send you a box for you to ship your zune to them in. Also if it's your first time calling zune customer support, then get ready to be asked a lot of questions. 1-877-GET-ZUNE (438-9863) Also make sure to register your zune for warranty on the zune site, to make the whole process go faster. Good luck!
