Default New screen? Help please!

Hey guys I've been on here a few times over the past couple of months but just never got around to posting. Well, to put it simply, I am PISSED. I just received a brand new engraved red 80 on Feb. 7. Damn it's beautiful. Here's the problem. just TWO DAYS LATER, I was out of town with it in my bag. I put it under my sweatpants, and up on a box so no one could step on it. Alas, though, someone moved my bag, and then someone DID step on it. The screen has an enormous epicenter of a crack in it. It still works, but the screen is basically falling apart and it will only get worse. I have been to RapidRepair's website and can only find a disassembly guide, not parts. Is there any place or company I can send my 80 to that will A) have a new LCD screen and B) be able to fix it? I would love some help. Thanks.

Thats sucks bro. Even worse, if you did not pay for a bigger warranty, it is not covered under the limited warranty thats comes automatically attached to the Zune.
I am sure they will fix it though for a price. Microsoft I mean. They want to keep customers happy, so at the very least I am sure they will tell you to send it in and pay for repair.

Yes, it does suck . Thanks for the reply, though! I'll give M$oft a shot. Any other suggestions are welcome though. Perhaps there's a cheaper way out there?

Say that the Zune came broken, and see if they will fix it. I know it's a lie, but they should cover things that are our fault as well, like Nintendo does.

Just say you got it for someone as a birthday gift. That'll cover the whole having it for over 16 days thing. If they ask just say I gave her the box as a gift on her b-day, which would be 16 days prior to when you got. And she opened it , and found that the screen was broken. Then ask for either a replacement (might take long 1-2months) or a refund. Either that or just buy a screen off ebay and then do the whole replacement manually yourself, which I highly recommend you don't do, since you might mess up your zune internally.

Hahaha I can't wait that long! And there aren't any 80 screens on Ebay. I'm beginning to think the only reliable repair would be M$oft. Anyone know how much a screen repair from them costs?

Anything is worth a try right? Aside from messing it up yourself, because then you are not liable.
The worst thing is that they say "No, sorry."
Then proceed with whatever your plan B is.

So I should call who? Zune Originals? And just tell them it was broken in transit? I guess it could work. What's the best way to fabricate that story? :-P
