Brand New Zune 80 gets hung up error

I just bought a brand new zune 80. I followed all of the instruction, installed the update to 2.3, no problems. When I try to sync any type of media(music, video, pics) it will sit at 0% for about 5 minutes and then give me an error saying the zune is not responding and it may be hung up. It tells me to disconnect it and try again. I have tried all 6 of my USB ports (rear and front). I have done the hold back and up restart also. I am using Vista. I have tried syncing only one song and it still gives me the same error. Anyone have any ideas?

try reinstalling the software, and if that doesn't work format the zune, and if that doesn't work format the zune and reinstall the firmware
