Question about using zune with in dash systems (do ipod interfaces work)

I was just wondering.. im picking up an Eclipse AVN5510 IN dash system and it has an ipod control interface.. i was just wondering if those worked with the zune.. i know the plug is diff size but im honestly not sure if you can just get a zune plug or an adapter. If anyone has any clue please let me know.. id like to have the zune work through the system rather then just the aux port. Its strange MS has no support for this feature on their own

The plug is a diffrent size? Does it go into the headphone jack or the bottom transfer/charging slot?

The ipod plug is bigger then the zune plug, it plugs into the bottom not the headphone jack

It will not work. You'd have to get a Zune interface or just use an Auxiliary jack.

i use the aux on my sterio but no ipod interface will not work and i do not think there are "converter cables" out there for such conversion

Can you pt a pic? I dont understand, is there a ipod cable comming out of the stereo that is perminatly ATTached or is it a built in dock?

does that deck have an aux jack? If so you can use it there, the iPod interface will not work with the Zune as they are different. But i'm sure you pretty much knew that already.

Yeah.. well its strange they dont make a zune module interface. The reason I want one is because my in dash dvdplayer/nav supports the ipod module so i can control the ipod right through the system and keep the ipod in the glove box. Zune has no support for this which is strange.. its sad because i like the zune more then the ipods.

Rest assured, Zune interfaces are in the works and set for release in March of this year. So don't let this issue stop you from getting a Zune cause help is on the way.
