Default Howto delete movie from computer but not Zune?

I have started converting several of my DVDs to mpeg4 for my Zune 80 and this is eating into my hard drive space (only 80gb on my laptop). Is there a way to delete the movies from the hard drive of my computer and still keep them on the Zune. Every way I have tried to delete them from computer they get erased from the Zune every time I sync. Thanks, Jeff

In the Zune Software, under Settings>Device, choose forget this device. Then in the next popup choose Guest.

I've had similar problems. If you installed the firmware on that Zune from that computer you cannot unlink it for some reason. I haven't tried this but one solution I thougt of would be to go to another computer and link it to that computer, then take it home, and hopefully it should give you the guest option. The solution I know that works, I found by accident. I needed to reinstall Windows on my computer. I formatted the hard-drive and reinstalled a fresh copy of windows, went to connect my Zune, and viola I'm now a guest. That is a lot of effort to go through though.

another option you COULD do, but is costly, if you would like to keep those files is to buy an external hard drive. that is what i am going to do. That way i can keep my laptop mem open and still have my vids and music.
