Exclamation ZUNE2's Equalizer

Hi Zune fans,

I got a problem with my ZUNE2(80GB), well it's not that my ZUNE have a problem but there's something missing on my ZUNE2, I don't know if it's me that can't see that option. In the settings, you go to music and can't find the equalizer, if it's not not only me, Microsoft should do something about it to put it on the next firmware they working on, if it's only me, can someone tell me where to find it. I had the ZUNE(30GB) and it got that option to set equalizer and now the 80GB version don't have it, it would be a BIG mistake, not only big, but CRITICAL, I need to set up the sound, to boost the bass or something....please help me in that situation. Only because of that option they left behind, I could regret buying the ZUNE2 but above that, I love my ZUNE

They took it out to save battery life and make up for the extra battery used on the wifi. The option to turn an equalizer off/on would have been nice, but we can only hope it comes later.

According to the review of the Zune 80 on anythingbutipod.com (posted today), they can't add an eq in future firmware releases because the hardware doesn't support it. Not sure if it's true or not, but thought I'd point it out.

in reffering to the eq, you are reffering to rock,acoustic,pop... ect? or a full custom eq as in setting bass, treble, mid ect... that is what i want in the next firmware

they say that the zune is supposed to be sooooo freakin awesome in picking up audio signals that you dont need an equalizer. thats why the zune 80 comes w/ premium head phones.

I haven't found the need for an equalizer, the headphones and the music quality is good enough that i wouldn't want to change anything.

I was reffering to pre-set equalizer like you said, rock, acoustic, pop. But a full custom would be nice too. I need that option anyway. They should put it on the next firmware. I'm gonna write Microsoft about this

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Zune80 doesn't have an EQ chip onboard. Thus there will be no equalizer in the future, unless it is through software, which wont really bring a benefit.

Unhappy

I just got my Z80 and I think the sound is not very good at all...it sounds as if it is playing in reverb and has a hollow sound and the bass is definitely lacking. This doesn't even come close to my iRiver H120. It had stock/custom EQ, WOW, TrueBass, and more. I put an iPod battery in it and it was good for 20 hrs. The only reason I'm not using it is that the HD died after 4 years.

Everybody says how awesome the Zune sound is....as compared to what? Very disappointed.

i was disapointed with the fact that there was no equailizer as well. But then again...I haven't bought the 80 and I don't think i will. Probably just go with the next gen. hopefully that one has the eq setting.

Yeah I'm extremely pissed about the lack of an equalizer.
The Zune Earphones are way to lacking in Bass amongst other things.
I plugged in some old Sony ones, and they sound a lot better,
but I would still like the freakin option to turn EQ on or Off!!!!!
