Unhappy Can't get Zune software to install

****I GOT ZUNE TO INSTALL AFTER I UPDATED TO VISTA!****

THANKS TO ALL WHO OFFERED HELP

Hi,

If there is already a thread for this topic, I couldn't figure out how to find it...

Okay, that out of the way- I bought a pink Zune 3 days ago and still can NOT get the software running on my computer. I don't understand techy-stuff at all- so I really don't know what to do.

But I am VERY frustrated to say the least, because I have a Samsung K5, a CL Zen, and a little rinky-dink freebie player from Napster. I had no problems using any of these players (except for the battery on my 1st zen) or the programs that run them.

Now with this Zune, I can't even get the program to install on my computer- and it won't tell me why or what to do, it just says there is an error???

I get to this page with the girls laying on the ground and it says that there has been an error and to restart and try again.

All I know about my computer is that I have XP and supposedly enough memory.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try using SZIP, located in the Completed section under H4X and M0ds

Do you meet the minimum system requirements?

Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > General (I just figured that out, literally)

Or right-click My Computer, select Properties - that should tell you the basics that you need: proc speed, memory, etc.

Ah, OKay- this is what it says:

Compaq
Presario Intell
Celeron (r) CPU
2.50 GHZ

2.49GHZ

504 MB RAM

I have no clue what any of that means. I did also follow the links from one of the other responses and went to windows update, which it did do some updating (i don't know what any of it was though)...

Is this enough computer gutzo to run a zune? Or should I pack it up now?

Thanks for all the help I'm getting

That's in the site. And you were suppose to look at the top part of the box, not the bottom part.

It should have been right above what you found.

Put the Zune software on my laptop with Vista Home Premium on the first try and it only took about 5 minutes. Then I decided to place it on my laptop with Win XP. For some reason I had to start the instillation 10 times before it connected with MS got the updates and install, which took about 20 minutes. It is now working fine on both with a few mods. The answer is, it will work, be patient.

Your security settings are set at the nazi level, if you have admin access you can lower them somewhere. Or you could use a better web browser.
