Default Cucusoft VID conversion problems

I went ahead and purchased this program due to all of the positive reviews (the suite). Anyhow, it converts several music videos over to WM9 just fine. However, some vids which I HAD to download VLC media player just to view (WMP11 wouldn't play them) are continually giving me errors. These music videos which I am having problems with are SkidVids... Can anyone advise how I may be able to overcome this obstacle or in which direction to go. Thanks for anyone's help.
Win XP Home SP2, P4 2.8, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 6600GT

file extension is .mpg. However, these seem to be edited to remove logos, watermarks, etc. and are labeled as SkidVid. Now some of these play fine, some don't. Anyways, VLC media player will play ALL of them. WMP11 will play very few of them. Cucusoft comes up with an error right away as soon as I begin the conversion. This is where the video has the credits to whom originally did all of the editing of the clips. Anyways, was hoping there would be a simple solution to this.
