Default Why Won't it work on Media center 2002?
That's bullocks. How can the Microsoft Zune Software not support a version of it's own company's os?

I think it's horrible, and it almost made me take back my Zune. Does anyone out there know anything I could do to get it to work? I think it's a futile effort but I dunno.

I use my dad's computer as of now, and transfer songs through our network, but it's a pain in the arse. :mooning:

Why doesn't Zune Software work with media center 2002?!?

ARGH
Is the only way to get a different version of windows? If so this is really gay.

Yea I have heard reports from friends that it will not work with anything earlier then 2005. Sorry :-(

Someone released a hack to make the software work with Windows Vista, but I'm not sure how popular Windows Media Center 2002 is. Sorry

Engadget did their review on the Zune on a Media Center PC and had all kinds of issues... they called Microsoft's technical support and the said something about a work around for it, if I were you I'd call the MS tech support and see if they could help. Either way, MS knows of the issues and I'm sure they are working on the patch...

You have to have the latest Media Center or latest service packs in order to run the Zune software.

Yeah, I called MS Tech Support a while back, and after like 40 minutes, they finally just told me I had to call my manufacturer (HP) and ask them if they could do an upgrade. Lucky for me, after calling I found out that my computer has been out of warranty since like, February. Pretty annoying seeing as I only bought this thing about a year ago.

Hopefully they'll come out with a upgrade for media center 2002 to make it run the zune software. This is a major inconvenience.
