Information for anyone with the following symptoms:
-Zune 30 *will not charge* nor sync via USB with multiple cables and multiple pcs -Nothing shows up in device manager with zune connected, it's as if there's nothing there -If zune is off, plugging in usb will turn it on but still will not charge or sync or show up on the PC in any way -Even after reformatting it you cannot get past stage 1, the zune is not seen by the PC *at all* -Still *will charge* with car / wall charger You need to replace the motherboard. I have tried everything and up until now my Zune was mostly bricked. I bought a motherboard for $36 on eBay, installed it, and now the thing is good as new. Hope this helps someone! |

Then it might be that either the connector port on the Zune or the connector cord is shot. Maybe even something on the computer itself. Did you try reinstalling the Windows Media Runtime 11?
