I received the Zune mp3 player for Christmas as a gift. Turns out my parents purchased the mp3 player from ebay. I love the quality of the player picture sound etc... Unfortunately when i opened the player it would not turn out longer then 5 mins due to the fact it was not charged. I attempted to charge it threw the usb cord for days not luck. I installed the zune player on my computer to my surprise it would not sync to my computer. I assumed the player just needed to charge fully before being able to install. I purchased ac adapter charger which the zune fully charged yet no such luck with syncing on my computer Ive uninsulated and reinstalled multiple times. Also on the Zune player when u go to the community setting on the zune player is shows a member logged on a i guess but its not my name. Any advice of how i can fix it ??

Let me get this straight.
The Zune Software was successfully installed, but your Zune Software will not sync to your Zune player itself?

when you say not syncing do you mean not even detected by the comp @ all or the usb connection sound alets but no indication of where zune is connected??

Correct i installed it but when i go to add music to the player i can log on the zune site provided through the cd but i can not sync to my computer to transfer songs.

I'm not sure if this will help, but try reformatting your Zune completely.
Disconnect your Zune. Hold on to Back+Left+Center at the same time for 5 seconds. After it reboots, try connecting it to your Computer again.

hmmm..okay well we could do it in multiple steps:
Make sure you're plugging it in using one of the rear USB ports on your PC - don't use a front USB port as they can be less reliable. If that doesn't work, try a different rear USB port. If you're using a USB hub, try bypassing the hub. If that doesn't work, try resetting your player. To do this, follow these steps: - Disconnect the Zune Sync Cable. - Press and hold the Back button as you press "Up" on the Control Pad. - After the device starts, reconnect the sync cable. ------------- if this still doesnt work: Try this next (from Microsoft support article #927876): Register the Windows Media Device Manager (WMDM) for Zune devices service. To do this, follow these steps: a. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Zune\zunesp.dll", and then click OK. You receive the following message: DllRegisterServer in C:\Program Files\Zune\zunesp.dll succeeded. b. Click OK. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling your Zune software (using Add/Remove Programs), and re-install. -----------
