Default [SOLVED] Flashing screen

Hello, I found an older topic on this but it didnt have any solution, any way.
I got a Zune around christmas but the screen broke 2 months later, I've just recently gotten around to fixing it, it worked great but then, stupid me... I took it back appart to clear some dust out from behind the screen, I got it all put back together and now it doesnt work. When I try to turn it on nothing happens unless I plug it into my computer, when I do this it simply flashes the Zune logo.

has ANY ONE had this problem or does ANY ONE know what to do? I'm starting to get frustrated with this, I'm almost considering buying an iPod even though I hate them, it's better than constantly having to fix my Zune...

if you have warranty still, just call microsoft/zune 877-get-zune.

Okay, I'll read the other one, I'm just getting really frustrated, I've posted on a dozen different forums and this is the only one that I've even gotten a response on.
And the warranty didnt cover broken screens, so I had to take it appart and fix it myself, this automaticaly makes the warranty void

you can take your chances still.. and don't say about anything repaired yourself.. and see will they ask you to send it to them and get another one/repaired.. they won't really check it..

I checked the other thread, and my zune flashes steady, 1 second on 1 second off. I'm gonna try leaving it like this for a while like that other guy mentioned, see if its maybe just really low battery or some thing. Any suggestions?

and I suppose I could try to contact them and send it in for repairs, but if they notice the lil golden tab things between the hard drive / battery casing and the mother board, do you think they'd still fix it? I'm not sure, I've just heard bad things about the Zune's repair / replacement thing.
It's almost tempting to go to walmart or some other big company that loses no real prophet, buying a new one, switching out the hard drive and casing and taking it back saying it came that way... But I'm pretty sure that might be illegal or some thing =/

if they don't open it.. then they'll give you another one... just try letting the battery die out completely.. then recharge it and see will that do the trick.. if you don't want to call.

Well it only turns on when its plugged into the computer, so Its not so much a matter of letting it die... When it's plugged into my computer it only flashes, if its not plugged in it doesnt do any thing, I'm gonna test the battery from my sister's Zune to see if maybe I just need a new battery. I'll call Zune tommarow probably, the process you have to go through when you call places like this annoys me, and half the time you cant even understand the person you talk to...

Oh, and I just noticed this. I held it up to my ear, when it starts up it makes like a noise like its about to boot, then makes a soft kind of squeeling noise kinda like a computer does when it gets unplugged or some thing. I dont know its weird, any ideas on what this might be?

Sorry I'm probably getting annoying >.< you guys are the only ones that have helped at all so far, I keep finding forums like these on the internet, people give a list of things they're going to try, say they'll post what works then never do...

Took it apart and checked every thing, then double checked where the noise is coming from, found it was the hard drive, any way, gonna plug my sister's into mine, see if it's the mother board, the conector or the hard drive, also gonna check the battery.
Thanks for your help, I'll post any results I get, if nothing works I'll just see about sending it in for replacement.

i got the same problem, all started when the socket of the headphones jacket won't play any sound on the right earpiece, so i figured out that i may need to open it, to see what's it with the jacket. After i open it (follow the instructions of a video from youtube) it work fine until remove the mainbord-screen from the front plastic shell. Now the zune doesn't turn on, and if i plug it to the pc, the screen just flashes with the zune logo. i open it since i live in mexico and i bought it through mercado libre (ebay on mexico) so i don't have the option to call asistance from ms or any ratailer.
Any thoughts.
