Default Okay, I'm scared now

This has never hapenned to my Zune before. And I dont' know what's going on. But this is my scenario:

I was listening to my music and everything was fine.
Then my Zune stopped playing music but the screen still said that it was playing.
I read about this in a thread before and the advice was to do a reset, so i did.
The reset made the screen go blank and the Zune screen come up blah blah blah, but then it just went blank when it was supossed to be done. I didn't know what the hell was going on so i reseted again.
the screen was still blank. Now my screen freaking says that in order to recover from an error the Zune must erase all content! WTF!
I can't do that!
I don't have my music on my computer! This will ruin everything! what's going on? HELP ME NOW! The screen still says that it has to erase everything and I'm going to leave it like that until i get help.

Thats part of the hard reset, it deletes everything. There is nothing you can do at this point.

No matter what other people say, it is still possible to save your data. First, get the Zune HD hack, then connect your Zune to your computer after you have installed it. Make sure the Zune is on and then access it from my computer. If you can copy files, or even veiw them, great, your problem is solved. If you can't, then take the Hard drive out of the Zune and connect it using a hard drive to USB connector. Note that this is very dangourous, and you could destroy your Zune, or at least void the warenty. Anyway, fisrt you must take the Zune apart, so use a screwdriver to push of the plastic next to the export slot. Next, you will see two screws there. Unscrew them. Then, take a wedge and put it in the seam of the Zune on the headphone side, slightly below the headphone area. Next, push and pull up. It will require a bit of force. If you do this wrong, your Zune will be ruined. Now, assuming you did it correctly, locate the hard drive (it should look kind of like a silver brick, and it should be behind the LCD screen), and take it out. It should have a SATA port on it, so You should have a SATA to USB connector. Connect the Hard Drive to your computer, and copy all the files over to your computer. Once this is done, connect the Hard Drive back up to your Zune, the same way it was before, and push the cover back on. When you've done this, screw the screws back on and put the export slot clip back on. Now you can connect the Zune to your computer and recover it.

Forgot about talking out the HDD. If you are going to do this, you will need a ZIF adapter.

If they want, I can write a detailed tutorial with pictures! Also, there are people that will save the data for you and give everything back to you, like me for example. I actually have never worked with a Zune hard drive other than my own, sorry I have worked with an iPod hard drive though, and they're almost the same, and I have also replaced my Zune's hard drive, but I am not the best at it and I wouldn't want to damage your Zune. Also, I have a friend that has a business recovering data from hard drives. I forgot what it's called, but he would be allot better than any of us. lol

This has happened for awhile. Her HD is dying, and she either needs to send it in, or replace it herself. Those are the only two options.
