The better question to ask is if you can change it.

They sell Zune opening kits and extra-long-life batteries on ipodmods.com.

As for the longitivity of the battery, I'm at a loss. It's only been a couple months since the Zune was released, so I don't think anybody knows ;D

my question is a LITTLE off subject, but not much.
Can you mess up the zune by leaving it on the dock for a while (3-4 days) many be longer?

That shouldn't damage the battery too much :-\

However, Litium-Ion batteries are very sensitive to heat, so I wouldn't recommend doing that

I'll often use my Zune as a projectile weapon. Can this damage the battery?

I would assume so.

I have a question, I charged my battery after it was fully charged already (charged it the night before, then plugged it in again to prevent battery drainage [using wall charger]) and now the life sucks. It goes down t about 3/4 to 1/2 life after about 15-25 minutes of listening to music. The setting are usually:

LED: Low brightness; 5seconds back light
Volume: between the 8 to 14 range
Wireless: Off

Any way I can fix this?
I am running down to 0% and then charging it fully to try to "reset" the battery.
Will this fix it or help? If not, what will?

From what I've heard, the battery indicator on the Zune is very inaccurate. It does that on everyone's. Your actual battery life should be unaffected.

For maximum damage when using your Zune as a projectile weapon, I would recommend soaking it in molten lava first. I have found it to be extremely effective, and my Zune has shown no signs of decreased performance :P

Because it has no performance. haha. the best way to use your zune as a weapon is to tell an ipod user (and lover) that theirs sucks, and show them your Zune. They will get pissed and either explode on the spot or throw it at some one, your job is just to aim them.

From what I have read, leaving your zune on the charger can sometimes cause the batteries to expand(excess heat) and crack the screen. One user already reported a cracked screen on here, so you might want to leave it off the charger from now on.
