Default I think my zune cable is messed up D:

I had a crappy laptop. My zune wouldn't sync to the laptop unless I put pressure on the part of the cable that plugs into the USB... Now that laptop is dead.
I have an OK computer now, and the zune just won't sync to the computer anymore... D: I think the cable got screwed up from all the pressure I had to put on it...
Any ideas on how to fix the cable? D:

When I connect the zune, the computer says "new hardware found" and then it doesn't detect it anymore, and then it detects it again... but the installation of the new hardware always screws up because of this...

Would I be able to wireless sync if i haven't synced with the cable first?

Yeah if your zune is still under its 1 year warranty, you can just call up Zune Customer Support and ask for a new one. They'll most definently send you a new one free of a charge.

Like don't say well yeah I was about to sync my zune to my laptop so I Jammed the D** sync cable in the sync port!!! Be like well yeah today I was just syncing my zune like normally and for some reason my sync cable aint working. Or something that will show MS that you didn't break it yourself, like it just happened out of nowhere.

Just lie..

And yes it is a free call just add a

1-877-GET-ZUNE

Say the sync cable is messing up and when they ask..

Are you sure its the cable?

You reply yes im very sure of it. My friends zune cable works perfectly with mine

but mine doesnt work..

And when you get that cable and it still doesnt work just try agian.

But this time say its your Zune itself so you can get a refurbished zune.

For its the zune itself not yours

It's your serial number on the back of your Zune.

Just go for a free replacement from MS. It's easiest solution.

I'm pretty sure it isn't a cable problem since the computer already detects the zune. But it's not a bad thing to get a free replacement sync cable.

Anyways... Try using unzoon to uninstall your zune software and then reinstall it. The problem is most likely due to a malfunction zune usb driver.

If you fear that you'll break your usb cable/port again, just wireless sync. sync wired only if you're syncing very large files.

You just need the serial number.
