Default saving memory on computer for zune

hey, i was wondering if there's a way I can store my music and other stuff on my external hard drive instead of keeping my music on my computer in order to keep the stuff in my zune collection because i tried doing that and the stuff was erased from my collection and then eventually my zune after i synced it

well, first of all, you can be a guest on your software, so the computer will never automatically delete anything off your computer :] You can do that by downloading the zunemediacollectionresettool (just google that) and then sign in as a guest. As for saving your stuff on an external hard drive, just save it on your external hard drive, and in your settings of your software, make sure you have your external hard drive as the files that you want in your collection.

To make it as simple as possible, just add your media from the external HDD (i.e drag it on from the external HDD)

You can, but you would have to connect it everytime before you open up the zune software. You would also have to tell the software to look for music on it.

I still say guest is easiest. Because, if you did the HDD way...you have to do the hack and everything. Plus, you have to do what cam is saying.
