Ok, so by now I'm quite aware that with the Zune you're unable to "drag & drop" files directly from a folder set on the hard drive, which is inconvenient to say the least.
What my real problem is when I do load my songs into the collection it doesn't load a few hundred of my songs, and more importantly, when loaded into the collection you can not organize the songs by file name. Making it very hard to find certain songs, without going through and changing the names, which I have already done in my folder on the hard drive for file name.... and it takes forever. Is there any other program or hack that can make this any easier? Also is there an easy way to delete all the songs in the collection area on the Zune software? Thanks for any help. |

1. Uninstall your software with UnZoone, reinstall.
2. Edit your metadata. 3. Do a hard reset on your Zune Device, resync everything.

Ctrl+A and Del.
That selects all and deletes.

I appreciate your guy's help very much, but to clarify, I need to go through each song individually and give it a Artist and Title, while making sure they are also consistent, if I want all my music to be organized and easy to find? This is gonna take awhile. I downloaded a tagging program that seems to save me a little time, but I'm sure this will take a few hours to sift through 9,000 songs. Thanks again though for your quick responses.

i recommend using MediaMonkey to edit your song tag info. you can batch edit everything so its all right. ie. to get all tracks with same artist to actually be filed under the same artist on the Zune and not 2 or more. good software.

either MediaMonkey as teamgood said or try using MP3Tag, which you can also edit the Album art (i'm not sure if Monkey can)

Ok, I just found out MediaMonkey has a tag based on Filename option and that is exactly what I needed to get my music organized. I got them all in perfect order with exception to a few artists that have "-" in their name (i.e. Jay-Z, or B-52's) took me about 20 mins to sort through those and fix them, and a few songs, approx. 12, could not be modified at all, no biggy. I also found that Winamp has a very good online DB for finding extra info, but nothing was more helpful and accurate than the MedaMonkey program. Thanks a lot guys.
