Default Zune automatically deletes music/video

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Zune automatically deleting my songs and videos.

The first time this happened I just hooked up my Zune to get it charged and opened up the Zune software to manage my songs. After about 5 mins I looked at it again and realized that all my songs were being deleted! I couldn't stop it and all my songs were gone from the Zune, even the ones that came pre-loaded with it. No idea what triggered it

The second time was right after I had deleted an MPEG movie from my computer HD, after I hooked up my Zune 30GB it automatically deleted that movie from my Zune as well!

I have it set so that the Zune does NOT sync either music or video with my device unless I tell it do so manually, and double-checked to make sure that was the case in both instances.

Any reason why this might be happening? Something in the settings that I'm not seeing? Thanks for your help guys. Enjoy the SuperBowl! GO PATRIOTS!!!!

hopefully this will work.
1) settings>device>remove this device
2)unplug your zune
3)delete everything you don't want off your computer, from the zune library, my music, etc
4) plug in your zune again and follow the instructions that pop up (you might have to wait a short while)

result: nothing removed from your zune!! YAY!

btw, NO GO GIANTS!!!!!! lol.

Maybe I'm not thinking right but I'm not sure how that will help. Eh.. Wait for someone else to post.

Just to let you know, if you delete the MPEG movie from your computer hd, the zune software will remove it from the zune. It's not an error. If you want to remove the video from computer's hd, but not the zune's there's a thread in the hacks and mod section.

You've set the zune will not sync either music or video with your device will prevent it deleting your videos/music on the zune when you do a manual sync.

do not let the zune software monitor your folders.. if they notice you deleted things.. they will delete it in the zune also..

Even though the option is set to so called "manual" there is no such option with the new software. The new software creates sync groups no matter the settings and these sync groups monitor the files, so if you delete files from your hdd they will be deleted from the zune.

The only temporary fix for this is to connect your zune as a guest, hopefull the manuall feature from the previous software will return.

That's not true. It's only true for some of the people.

I filmed my computer where no sync groups have ever been created and i can delete the file without being deleted on the zune.
