Unhappy Zune device won't open on computer

Recently I started getting a message whenever I opened up my zune application saying that it needed to be updated. So about 20 minutes ago I finally updated the software. I plug my zune device into my computer, but I keep getting the message: "The Zune software can't access important data on your Zune. Try disconnecting and reconnecting it. If the problem persists, contact customer support."

I have disconnected and reconnected the device several times now and still no luck. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there something wrong with the new update that is causing my zune not to be read?

It wouldn't allow me to copy and paste it somewhere, so I'm gonna have to burn all my songs. I really hope uninstalling it works though.

No need to burn songs, no music will be lost.

Okay, so I uninstalled it and I'm still getting the same message as before. Any other suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Could this have something to do with my computer being vista?
