crashed,music is gone, pc still thinks its full

I never had a problem with my zune untill i got the controller that you plug your headphones into that lets you change songs and volume control.
I heard some static then it crashed and wiped all data and restarted.
when I tried to sinc it again my pc still sees it as full. I tried several times, even reset the zune and still same problem.

Static shock probably caused it. Try the button combinations in my sig, that should solve your problem. If it doesn't, post back.

Thanks for the info. It helped somewhat so far, I'm still working on it. I was able to get the zune to erase content to the point where zune and pc read the same amount of used/unused space.However zune is still unresponsive to synce and I had to do a hard reset 5 times before all media was registered as gone, even though the zune said that I had so much data on device as well as pc, there was still no visible media to play.
I have second gen but am now going to try to install firmware 1.4 and see how it goes.
