Default Zune won't sync some songs

When I try to sync my music, there are around 500 songs that just won't sync. These files are put under the "not added" section under the device menu and there is the something that says error code C00D11CD. I follow the help link and apparently there is no web message for the error. Anyone know what to do?

Does any of your music have DRM on it?

It's probably the mp3 tags. You have to change them.

What do you mean by changing the mp3 tags? Could you tell me how?

I had this same problem just a few hours ago. It happened after I installed the new update. I had just downloaded some new mp3's and they wouldn't sync to the device. The 59 songs were listed as "not added" when looking at the device/ status page. I clicked on one of the songs and it had an error code next to it. Reluctantly, I tried this several times. I even converted the files to WMA and this still didn't work. This was very disturbing, in fact, downright upsetting. I realized that I had neglected one of the basic rules when installing any software/update. I forgot to restart my computer. Once I did that, all of the new MP3's uploaded to the Zune. I hope this helps.
Note: I reconverted the WMA files to MP3, but I don't think that made a difference. I just think it was a failure on my part to restart my computer..

You have to get a "Mp3tag" editing program. Maybe one such as I named.

I got Mp3tag and have been filling in tags where needed, but that doesn't seem to be helping. Only a few songs have been added to my zune since i started doing this. Also, a good portion of the songs that aren't syncing already have completely accurate tags. Any other suggestions?

I've had the same problem for over a month now. I swear i've tried everything from switching ports, sync cables, uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling and cleaning registry, reinstalling all to no avail. this was happening with two different zunes too. Wireless sync also stopped working. well tonight i decided to try another USB port and bada-bing bada-boom it freaking worked!!!!!

Live long Zune!

Hmmm... I just tried formating my zune and putting everything back on it, but now there's around 50 more songs that won't sync. Also, to clarify, I did restart my computer and none of my music has DRM and it is all in the correct format. I also tried switching USB ports, but that didn't work.

Delete the songs that dont sync from the library, then re-add them and check in the bottom centre of the screen to see if the "Invalid Media" message appears.

If that does not work re-encode your files to 128kbps in mp3 or wma format.

I had the same problem, it was because the tags and the folder name had "!"
I changed that using mp3tag and they all synced .

Well, I was hoping to be able to do this without using any sort of hacks for my zune, but I've tried everthing else that has been suggested. Unless anyone else has any new suggestions, that's what I'll try.

I'm having the exact same problem but with only about 150 songs. I'm about to try editing the tags, but so far none of the other suggestions have worked. Let me know if you figure it out.

By the way, whats up guys. 1st post

EDIT: just changed the tags on a few of the ones that wouldnt sync, and unless im doing something wrong (which i dont think i am, the tags are the same as some songs that ARE on the zune) its not fixing the problem. so far ive tried everything in this thread and found nothing to work.

so after some more messing around I'm still pretty stuck but:

I highlighted all my music in MP3tag and changed the "comment" tab on the left to nothing and hit save. after about 20 minutes of running through my music I got an error on 2 songs but the rest saved. Resynced my music and about 10 synced that wouldnt before.

I'm still at about 140 that wont sync. Still screwing with it....
