Nother' Noob..

I actually came here to ask a question .. but figured out how to fix it before I hit submit. So now I'm just here to read about the things some of you smart people make.

I got mine yesterday as an upgrade from a broken 1gb Ipod Shuffle. lol I figured If I made it with that.. then I'd never fill up the 8gb. Well.. Instead of uploading a playlist.. I upped everything and have 660 mb left. Geez. lol

I so have a question though.. As everything I'd put on my Ipod.. I'd bought off Itunes.. I got that converted right. But the other.. 1200 songs I've ripped (or were before cared about mp3's..) .. have lots of missing information. Where I'd had the file name as the name-title.. I don't have the album name for most of them so they're not sorted correctly in zune. Is there any kind of program that will search and update all of them for me or am I kinda on my own? I used a program named TAGSCANNER to create the tags for me... but.. it only has the info that was in the file name. Which is less than desired.

And Getting off to a great start with the Zune.. Has frozen on 2 of 4 songs. lol *sigh*

They're both converted from Itunes.. so Maybe they just have too much info in the tags.. lol

*edit* deleting the Album art and composers line from the tags allows it to play perfectly.

I don't care what I'm called, as just about anything fits.

Hey you.. works well usually. lol

2 weeks in and I've went through all 1700 songs and trimmed information back to where it doesn't lock up on anything anymore.

The worst thing now is that I'm seeing just how unorganized all my mp3's are as most of them still don't have the correct album name and zune just picks a random album cover for them.

If you have the option for the Zune software to fill in missing information, then uncheck it. You'll have to manually edit the album art to the correct one.
