New member. First post. Really nice board. I came across it while researching the brown 30GB Zune I just got at Shopko on Friday. I'm a complete beginner with the Zune, but searched up "Shopko" here to clue folks in on the clearance deal I found.

I'm not sure any are still left at Shopko stores around the country nor can I confirm whether or not this was a local store clearance deal only, but I grabbed my 30GB Zune for $62.50. That's not a typo. $62.50. Brand new and sealed.

I dropped by Shopko a couple weeks ago and noticed they were on clearance for $125.00, but was hesitant as we already have an Archos 504 for portable media. But I did some research, remembered the blowout Radio Shack and Toys R Us prices from Black Friday and decided to hold off. Then I went back yesterday by chance and looked to see if the price went down and, sure enough, it had been again cut in half. Unfortunately, the rack on the back endcap where I saw it before was bare. So, again by chance, I was browsing their electronics case by the digital cameras and saw one with a clearance sticker of $199.99. Quickly, I called a clerk over, had him price check the Zune and sure enough it matched the $62.50 price tag left at the bare endcap.

The lessons?

1. Just because it looks to be out of stock, that doesn't mean it is. Pay attention to the rest of the environment (even ask if you don't see it).

2. Just because a price tag says one thing, that doesn't mean a UPC scan won't say something entirely different. Price check everything.

Color me elated to find such a great media player for such an incredible price.

Oh, and the Zune accessories at my Shopko were also discounted to half retail. Better deals than that can probably be found online, but if Shopko is now (or soon to be) sold out of Zune players, there may be huge values to be had just around the corner.
