New, got the tattooed red for the Bday.

Hello everyone,

I'm Cassie.

I'm a former iPod user...I had my old iPod (it was #3, the other two got stolen) for a long time. . .I'd say probably five years or so, using the whole string of them as one collective iPod. It had no color, no photo, no video. I think it was a 3 gen 20gb. The Zune 80 is a major upgrade. I love how crisp and big the screen is for a mp3 player. I know a lot of people probably don't use the radio function, but I like it. Some of our radio stations populate the artist/song field on the Zune, which is fun. It makes it more like an ideal mp3 player: unpredictable, references available. . .I like it.

I didn't see too many pictures of the red 80, so I took some.

the back, the art is called "hello from seattle".

the flash on the camera makes it look more red than it really is, it's red for sure, but it's not bright fire engine red. more like a fresh blood red.

this is more like it, a little more maroon. there's a nat geo Otters video playing.

So far, I hate the Zune propietary software, but I hate the idea of executing commands every time I want to sync my Z even more, so I'm trying to make the best of the software. I've been pretty impressed with the Marketplace, except Microsoft's idea of math (1 pt=1.25 cents) is screwy and sneaky. I think the software is not idiot-proof, where so many programs are today. So in that sense, I don't hate it, I know I have to be smarter than the general public to get it how I want it. It's the same with Microsoft and Apple all the way back: Apple is idiot-proof, us Microsoft users are held to a higher intellectual standard and we're not having our hands held every step of the way.

I'm in love with video podcasts: the Soup, Best Week Ever, Nat Geo. . .

So, my next project is to work with WinAVI to get a Death Cab dvd onto the Zune.

I've copied some wallpapers from the wallpaper forum. Somehow all my standard wallpapers that came with the 80 gb got deleted. I had some initial trouble installing, then went back and forth with zAlternator for awhile.

That's all I have to say. I look forward to getting to be more proficient in the ways of the Zune. I also look forward to getting to know everyone!
