Hi Guys
Perhaps this is a basic question, but I'd be grateful if someone could give me some simple instructions on how to download wmv movies. Basically, whenever I click on a .wmv link, my Windows Media Player launches and starts playing the movie. How do I simply download the file so I can watch it at a later time? (I'm using Vista, so grateful for any tips from Vista users in particular!). Cheers, twobob |

let it play, then find it in your Temporary Internet Files

Right-click the link and choose Save Target As...
That will work for links. If it's a button, there are other steps you can take depending on what browser you are using. If that solution doesn't work for you, we can explain further. Last edited by Anachostic : 09-07-2007 at 07:13 AM. Reason: typo ![]() |

What you should do is when it opens up your WMP, let it play completely. Then, open up Internet Explorer and hit Tools > Internet Options > under the General Tab and in the "Browsing History" section, hit "Settings" > View Files.
Then, look for a sign of the file you want. (An easy way would be to clear your temporary internet files first, then play the video so it should be the only .wmv in there) Tell me if this helps at all.
