Angry songs won't sync from hard drive!?!

ok so i have a zune 120 and i got my boyfriend a zune 80. i have a TON OF MUSIC i put on my external hard drive and was trying to sync a couple of albums to his 80 from my hard drive. they looked like they were going to sync but then all of a sudden it doesn't go through all the way...

i'm not sure what's going on or how to fix it.. so if anyone has any insight - please let me know.

Have you checked if they are DRM protected (ie. Zune Pass files)?

If you drag and drop unprotected files from the external HDD to the Zune Software, and then sync to his 80, it should work.

Default cpl more questions/concerns??

eeeep i dont have clue.. still trying to figure it out a bit

but i had it set to auto sync but then just ended trying to manually sync. i know i downloaded a lot of my stuff so maybe that's why it won't go...

but then another confusion for me is when i got my 120 it was new out of the box.. when i bought him his 80 - i got it from a person off of ebay. so when i hooked it up and made an account for him on zune - the ones i KNOW were free with my zune... are coming up as that i hafta pay for his.

just wondering if that's cause it's a used zune? and if there's a way to get around that?

Anything you downloaded off the Zune Pass is protected with DRM (easy way to check a file - go into Windows Explorer, look at the properties of the file, and then the summary tab. In the "Origin" field, you can see if it's protected or not). MP3's, on the other hand, cannot be protected this way.

tmk, a Zune.net account is always free. Perhaps the Zune was linked to another account that had a Zune Pass and so it believes it requires payment? I'm not certain.
