Default [SOLVED] Internet?

Actually have had my Zune since Dec 06, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any plans/rumors to make it able to browse the internet like the new ipod?

Nope. No rumors or anything. Quite frankly, the interface (squircle/d-pad) really isn't well suited for text input, plus, I don't know if the hardware itself can handle a browser. If it can, it'd probably be some crappy watered-down mobile version.

actually the zune hardware itself (internal components etc) are more than enough for a fully functional web browser, zune is based on windows CE devices, which are PocketPC's, Windows Mobile systems, and so on.. Pocket PCs from the early 2000s which ran with <300Mhz strongarm CPU still had internet explorer.. and the zune has a 533Mhz freescale CPU (strongarm derivative) so the RAM, CPU, and even OS can handle the browser idea, but the lacking components is a data entry device or keyboard... and possibly a touchscreen, but if a simple keyboard were added via the usb interface or something, it'd be fully able to surf the web.

Most Pocket PC's nowdays are still under 300mhz.

I just got my zune and I was wondering the same thing. But it's marketing as an MP3 player leads you to believe that that's what it will remain. =(
