I'm still hesitant about going with Zune because of the numerous firmware/software problems I'm reading. I don't understand how the biggest software company in the world that designs far more complicated programs than Zune uses is not able to make reliable and easy-to-use software for its own products. Why are there synching issues with WMP and Zune which are both MS products? Why does the Zune mess up album art created on a MS product for a MS product? Why can't you drag and drop to and from the Zune with another MS product? Why does one have to buy a new Zune and then come to Zuneboards and spend hours reading, modding, hacking just to get the basics functioning properly?
Don't get me wrong...I use MS produts like Vista, WMP, WMA, & Office. Will I be able to take the music files/album art from WMP 11 that I have spent a lot of time organizing and updating and synch them to the Zune without them getting messed up? Can I just connect the Zune to my pc/WMP 11, click synch and be done with it? Thanks! ![]() |

I would install the software if I were you before you buy the device, and see how you like it.
I recommend installing from the full package.

Yeah I have to agree with Greg here, download the zune software and try it out. Load up all your music their first, and see if anything goes wrong. If something does go wrong, post it here we'll help you.
But yeah I have yet to have a problem with my zune. Everything has gone perfect for me. The reason why you get the idea of the zune being bad because of the software and such because you only see/read all these bad stories about people and their zunes, and their experiences of the zune software. Is because of one big thing... People who have had perfect problem free experiences with zune don't post their stories. Only people who have something go wrong or bad post. The number of people who has had a problem free zune experience compared to the ones who had all these software and zune problems could be enormous. But we'll never really know how many people actually never encountered a problem with their zune.. But yeah I suggest you get the zune , especially the z80. Now about the whole Quote:
