I wasn't sure if this was better posted here or the help section, but since I'm a noob and it's probably been covered before, I figure this was the best place for it.
First off, I am having the C00D124D error code when syncing. I JUST got my Zune 2 days ago and I haven't been able to sync without getting this error code. I am also having trouble with the Zune adding multiple copies of many of my songs. Right now my plan of action is going to be deleting all music and firmware from my Zune, uninstalling my Zune software, reinstalling, and going from there. Questions: What do I need to download when I start reloading my Zune? Where do I find firmware updates? Is the 2.3 update the only one I need, or do I need to download any separate updates to fix my problems. All advice is appreciated.

Well I am stuck now. I deleted everything from my Zune, ran the Media Reset Tool, and uninstalled the Zune software. Problem is, my computer still says the Zune software is on it, but I can't find it anywhere. I tried to uninstall using UnZoone and it says it's gone. So then I reinstall, but the software doesn't show up anywhere. I am ready to return this piece if I can't get it to work properly.

Well after a few hours digging on microsoft's website and this forum, I reinstalled my Zune software and it's now reacquiring all of my music. Hopefully syncing will be pain free this time.

Well the software is now installed correctly, but I get the C00D11CD error when I try to install the 2.3 firmware. I am too tired tonight to deal with this mess. If it doesn't work on the first couple of tries tomorrow, I'll be returning it.

Please, just edit your first post. It will allow people to see how you're coming along faster. Plus you seem a little schizophrenic talking to yourself =p
I'd try to help but I'm not very good with this stuff. However I've heard the newer software has some bugs, you may want to try the older software if the reinstall doesn't work out.

How did it go? I have seen this a few times, and I could go research for you. That is, after I see if this worked :] Sorries about you having to talk to yourself, but us members here don't exactly live here.

To be honest, I have spent so much time troubleshooting the Zune that I don't remember where I left off and how much more I did. I had the C00D124D error, the multiple song problem, the C00D11CD error, then I did a bunch of reinstalling and got the player to sync properly, but only 14 of my 18GB of music showed up. Then I tried to sync some videos and could not get them to even show up in my Zune software. Tried the HDD hack and couldn't drag and drop or even make a new folder in the Zune. I returned it to Target today and got another, which I'll try out tomorrow.

ok.. try not letting your software monitor the files, click on forget the device also... and then try reseting your zune.. or deleting firmware+music combo button.. and then reinstall the firmware..
