New Zewbie is completely discouraged!!

Hello all,

Great site you've got here. Thank goodness I found it. Yes, that's right, I'm a "Zewbie". And a very, very confused and overwhelmed one at that.

I just got a Zune 30 (or, at least, I think it's a Zune 30, that shows you how clueless I am) for Christmas after having an iPod for 2 years. I loved my iPod, but 2 years with 2 gigs of music wasn't working so well for me.

I was so psyched to get my Zune after reading all of its great reviews. So I installed the software, charged the Zune, and ... now I am completely lost.

The software is incredibly confusing to me, none of my songs will go under the right albums, and it won't convert some of my pictures because they're the wrong files. I'm so discouraged because, to me at least, all of the Apple software seemed very user friendly and this stuff seems so hard to use! Please tell me it gets better!

I've always thought that I was relatively good with computers, but I've been doing a little research on how to get some of my files onto the software, and my brain pretty much goes dead after hearing all the different types of file names. I haven't the slightest clue how to convert mp4s to mp3s, or get videos onto my Zune (which I would really like to do), or anything. Does anyone have any advice, or links to advice, or...anything to help out a new Zuner? Because, I'm pretty much down to where I don't have a CLUE. And I'm really getting depressed.

Well first, you should probably find out what zune you have. So if it has a silver back, and it's big it's a zune80. If it's small it's a zune4 or zune8 and it should say on the back. If it doesn't have a silver back, it's a zune30. And as far as the software goes, it gets better. A few people have problems with it but nothing that we here at zuneboards can't help fix.
