If you battery is dying quickly and it doesn't seem to hold a charge the battery may have gone or is bad.

Option 1: Time to take it in. All Lithium Ion batteries do go bad eventually and some are bad from birth. All devices that use them will need to replace the battery at some point.

Option 2: Although, before you do try one last thing. Leave the software on and plug the device in. It seems to charge a little bit quicker when its in the "Connected" mode. If it still doesn't hold a charge than resort to option above.

You could also try to update to the new 2.3 fw that came out today, it's supposed to fix battery issues and it may just help your problem. That is if you haven't brought it in yet or anything.

when you charge it charge it until it turns green and unplug it.

i charge it through my ps2 and i think it charges faster that way.

dont know for sure but since the new 2gens have came out you can probably get a better longer lasting battery but dont think it will be cheap (it is microsft what do you expect)

if you have a ipod you dont know what your missing!
