Default Forum Organization and Layout


Ok, so the Zune is launching VERY soon! I was going to post this in the Staff Board, but I changed my mind. I want YOUR opinion, as well as the staffs'.

Near launch, I plan on re-doing the forum layout.

This is the current layout:

Zune Discussions

--- Zune Talk
--- Zune Sites
--- Zune Accessories

Zune Downloads
--- Firmwares
--- Wallpapers
--- Videos
--- Tools
--- Hacks & Mods


Near launch, I plan on changing it to:

(And keep General Discussions as it is)

Any suggestions? I am not really good at organizing these stuff, so PLEASE, feel free to comment!

So far so good. I can't really think of anything to add/change to the Zune related forums, but there's a few things I can think of for General discussion.

Videl's suggestions for one, (Help and technical, serious discussion); something for graphics/pictures etc...

That's all for now. About serious discussion, 'debate' kind of functions as a 'serious discussion' forum, but meh.

Just thought of something. Under Zune downloads, there's videos, but no music or anything, are we avoiding that?

Looks great so far. But the Zune Marketplace is just as important as the Zune, so maybe it should get its own section? Maybe Something like:

Zune Marketplace
--- Problems & Support
--- Questions & Answers
--- Zune Pass


Problems & Support = Download problems, Installation Problems, Setting problems or any problem your having in/with the Marketplace.
Questions & Answers = Spot where people ask questions which are Marketplace specific. Such as "How do I import all all my songs into ZMP" or "How can I rip a cd I own into ZMP".
Zune Pass = Questions specifically about Zune Pass, such as subscriptions and renewal.

I can't really think of anymore then that. Just my 2-cents:icon_winkle:

Also, we could use a Website related/news type of thing, where this thread would go, and news on updates to the site/staff/rules/etc.

I think we really need a Video Help section where people can discuss Editing and Converting videos for the Zune. If you go to the "Videos" area, the most popular topic right now is "Aspect Ratio Problems".

Another thing I thought that might be beneficial to the board in the long run would be to change the "Zune Marketplace" section to "Zune Software". And then make a area within the "Zune Software" specifically for the Marketplace. Like this:

Zune Software
--- Problems & Support
--- Questions & Answers
--- Zune Pass
--- Marketplace

Just some thoughts :shy:
