I wanted to buy this game the day it came out, but I'm 40 dollars shy of having enough money, and the 20 that I do have I'm spending on my girlfriend's b-day present.
The art direction is really horrendous. They should have left it to die with Jet Grind Radio for the Dreamcast

The first 30 minutes or so of the game is really boring, but once you get to fight "Nine-toes" it gets interesting, and you get a lot of weapons.
To answer the first replier, this is basically a cel-shaded (and very low detail I might add, they should've done it Prince of Persia style, not TLoZ: TWW style) version of Fallout 3, that is really watered down. It's a LOT easier and less complicated.
Think of it as a sort of cheap copy of Fallout 3 (that is in NO WAY bad, just simpler and worse looking).
I enjoy the game actually, now that I'm finally getting into it. Although not dying takes away from the experience (as usual).
You didn't hear it form me but the cracked computer version works online. Also it runs great on my machine i get a steady 30-40 FPS with all settings maxed. And my Video card is only a 8600gt 256 mb 256 bit DDR3 nvidia card. got it almost three years ago. Anyways if you want to play with me on the pc add me on steam (greenops3) or on X-fire (greenops) or on gamespy network thing (greenops2)
As for the game play the game is amazing it's so fun playing co-op if you play single player its boring. Only thing is you see people running to pickup rare drops because there's Distribution system.

I can't wait until I eventually own it!
Yay for girlfriends! LOL
----------------------- I want this game super bad...
I'm kind of new to the gaming world. I have played Fallout 3 and Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction- but most of my gaming experience comes from watching my boyfriend play 30+ rounds of Nazi Zombies on Call of Duty (on PS3), and after that I kind of feel like a zombie. I'm getting a PS3 for Christmas from him though and this (Borderlands) is definitely one of the games I want to buy along with the new R&C, and Batman Arkham Asylum.
Haley, all three of those are excellent games, imo.... I have loved the ratchet and clank series since it first came out...... and Batman arkham was just intense and well done all the way around. But I still need to see borderlands for myself, but I own Fallout 3 and all of it's DLC's and I love it, I could care less about the cell shading, it's gameplay I'm after.
I own it, play it on Steam. The graphics look very nice, the cel-shading gives it a good feel. It's a great game, I'd recommend it if you enjoy exploring/finding something new that nobody else has found/killing monsters. You can me if you ever want to play it with me.
Why does everyone compare this game to fallout 3? It's really stupid, they aren't related at all. No, it's not a cel-shaded fallout 3, and no it's not a watered down fallout 3. It's Borderlands. Just because they take place in a waste land doesn't mean that they are the same game. It's like comparing halo to asteroids, because they both take place in space they must be the same game.

I got to see this game in person for the first time on Saturday, and I must say it looks just as I envisioned it. I can't wait to actually own a copy!
