I find it disgusting people are boycotting L4D for such a stupid reason.
Boycott L4D because it's causing Valve to delay releasing good overdue sequels like Portal 2 and Half Life 2 Episode 3, not because you're too cheap to pay for the full game
I have to say that I am a part of the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott. I bought the game at release for 50 bucks. I played for probably over 50 hours with my friends, playing the same maps over and over again. After endless months of Valve's endless promises for community support, SDK support/release and even hints at DLC, I've just given up. First of all, the game was a huge disappointment right off the bat. Gone was the pre-release promise of "never playing the same game twice". After just a handful of hours, all the games played the same with almost no deviation from the exact same scenario time after time again.
On the other hand, I've played Team Fortress 2 with my friends for over 130 hours, and that game, despite the many long hours I logged, is still exciting and different to play. Why? Not because of the stock maps, but due to the huge amount of community maps and support. There are literally hundreds of different maps to choose from, and some of the best have even been included with official updates to the game.
Left 4 Dead 2 is Valve's way of finally realizing that they can do whatever the heck they want, because no matter what they do, people will pay for it. If they sell half a game at release, and then sell the other half as an entirely different game, who's going to be the wiser? Either way, people will open their pocketbooks and shell out for some new online experience with their friends. But not me.

They seem like a bunch of whiners to me. If you do not like the game, do not buy it. Boycotting a game because you want more for less just seems like you are trying to get attention.
However, I do not see people trying to get attention by boycotting Nintendo's games even though most of them are the same thing redone with slightly better graphics. Instead, Wii sales are increasing signficantly, and Nintendo's games sell quite well.

A lot of Nintendos games aren't like that... Though for any one 10+ years old Xbox 360 > Wii. (More great games)
The new Metroid wasn't like that nor the new Animal Crossing. Though, yes they do remakes a lot.
Kids these days...boycotting developers....
You guys boycotting developers? Is this a joke? 'Cause I'm laughing.
You made my day. Thank you.
