gears of war pc

okay so i downloaded gears of war for pc off a torrent pirate the bay from toed and i finished and its lagging like crazy. I was wondering why is it like that. My computer is a hp dv6775us type that in google and you will find al lthe specs of it. is my computer to slow to run it or is it just a corrupted file?

you know why its laggy? your video/graphic dedicated to your laptop can't really support it much.

yeah.
I have a HP dv6110. I can't run anything besides movies. Some low end games and that's it.

But i can run COD4 fine and Halo 2 fine as well and they are both not low quality. Halo 2 is medium while COD4 is high
also system requirment lab said it was fine

OK, I own this for the PC legally, and upon release Gears of War for Windows was noted to be slow, buggy, had a bad framerate, deleted save files, etc.

They DID release a patch for it, but as far as I know it's only available through Games for Windows Live update, which means that you'd have to get a serial key (that hasn't been used twice yet), use it, and download the patch from Microsoft.

I did that an it started running really nicely. And my PC is/was state of the art around the time Crysis came out (State of the art for average people, we got it to run at medium) so GoW should've run fine, but it just needs a patch. Either way, Gears of War for Windows is a great game, especially the 5 new chapters and you should pay for the thing.

it works fine when its in windowed mode and its not clicked on. Like a click on the desktop and it looks fine but when i click on the game its really laggy

And things generally run faster in Windowed mode, so for now that's your best option.

Go buy the game and put in the CD :P

Or mount the ISO using Daemon Tools (if there is one, if there isn't you're screwed).

dude you should get it legally but, your graphics card isnt up to par, doesnt even touch the minimum requirements, and dont trust little compatability checkers, but yeah your laptop has some serious ram, a decent processor, but no dice on the video card.

most important thing to play games is always a video card

no video card=poor gaming... the game isn't expensive.. its only around $20-$30.. i believe.. so if you like the game.. might as well go buy it? and even if it says it pass the requirement.. it doesn't mean you can run games fairly well.

My video card is powerful enough to play COD4 and Halo 2 so it should be able to run Gears of War

call of duty 4 don't require much graphics to be honest.. even my 7050m on notebook can run it... 8400m isn't much of a video card.. it can't support that much games.
