Default Xbox 360 or PS3?!

I'm looking at getting another console, I currently have a Wii, and wanted some opinions on what I should get. One question I have is about the Zune integration with the 360. What exactly can you do with the two? And I also wanted to know a few other things:

*which one has a better internet interface, ie; which one is better for doing stuff on the net
*which one can stream media from my desktop
*which one has built in Wi-Fi
*Is a 20gig drive enough for an average gamer on the 360
*Is a 40gig drive enough for an average gamer on the PS3

I have been trying to figure out which one to get and I'm about to pull my hair out! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

You can get a Wifi Router and plug it into the 360 for less but the only good WiFi is Dual Band and N, which it does cost more than $90 but it is completely worth it especially for a home network.

I never cared much for a web browser in a console since I have a desktop and laptop to take care of that. Both computer can handle web browsing a lot easier than a console can because they have OSs designed for it.

My 20gb is only half full with all the junk I put on it. Mileage may vary, try looking at an Elite if hard drive space is an issue.

I'll say go with PS3, it has a built in blu-ray, built in wifi etc.. functions are better for $50 more than a regular xbox360.

Why does buying a console have to be so d@mn difficult! Has anyone messed with the zune/360 integration?

i think you should get the ps3. first of all, the internet is for free in the ps3 and for xbox360 you gonna pay every month for internet. so after a little while, you actually start saving money with the ps3. 2nd of all, you can search online with the ps3 and watch youtube videos which i think is really cool. ps3 is my segestion

The only issue I have with the PS3 is that after viewing some side by side video comparisons of games, the 360 actually looked better. Is this true of all games or just games ported to the PS3? And is that something that I would ONLY notice in a side by side comparison?

...and that ain't worth the $90 you spend on it, which is why I suggested a WiFi router...as it can be plugged into the Xbox360 with an Ethernet cable.

You only have to pay once a year like myself, $50. Plus you have to pay every month for the internet anyways unless PS3 offers free broadband. Though around here the internet bill runs $42 a month but its Verizon Fios 15mb down with 2mb up so I can't complain on price.

Xbox Live is one of the cheaper subscriptions considering all that comes with it.

Amazon Prime is $75 annually.

Fileplanet is a little cheaper as it is a 2 year one at $99.

I have seen those videos too. I take them with a grain of salt though but if you have ever seen the Splinter Cell Double Agent comparison, Xbox360 won hands down from what I saw. IGN did the comparison.

I have broadband, as well as a wireless router, so that isn't an issue. And I would rather not pay for playing online. As far as gameplay/graphics goes, which do you guys prefer?

It would better to look at exclusive titles and what your groups of friends are playing.

Both should be equal in graphics despite what fanboys/girls might state as being otherwise.

360 today, ps3 for christmas.
if you get a ps3 now you're going to be waiting a while for the bomb exclusives that were promised. holiday season this year should have a bunch of must-haves, but between now and then there's nothing. if you get a 360 right now you'll be playing more great titles today than the ps3 will have next year this time. i have a 360 right now but i'll be adding a ps3 to the home theatre around november this year.

Every1 I know that has a 360 said it had the red light and broke on them. If you want dependability get a PS3. If u want the system with better games and new IPs get a X Box. Id personally go for a PS3

the 360 charges zune, and lets you play music off it in-game.
PS3 has a browser, but xbox live has more players
Xbox can stream media.
PS3 has wifi BUT you can plug ethernet into a wifi laptop for wifi on the xbox
20gig is more than enough for the xbox gamer, and you can replace the HDD.
the average PS3 game needs AT LEAST 4 gigs for the game AND you cant replace its HDD.

i personally have a xbox 360 because of its familiarity (lots of people have one,) and its multiplayer. and, yes, halo 3.

I'd say go for the Xbox 360. They have plenty of features, great updates, a cheat free environment, and a lot of games are better/have more content than their PS3 counterpart.

Examples include:
GTA IV - Renders higher on 360 (720p on 360, 640p on PS3) and will have downloadable content exclusive to the 360.
Lost Planet - Can upscale up to 1080p on the 360, can go to 720p on the PS3.

The PS3 has some nice features, but the difficulty of programming for it makes a lot of companies decide to say," Eh, screw it," when programming for the PS3 and then the 360 version of the game is better.

Games also tend to be buggier on the PS3, mainly because of the PSN with either connecting to it or being connected, they can randomly freeze.

As for your questions, the 360 has a great UI, but no internet browser. The Xbox 360 can stream video, music, and pictures from your computer using Zune Software (tested myself, it works), and 20 GB is good enough for the average 360 gamer. I don't know about PS3.

Also, games cost more on the PS3. That's another reason to buy the 360. There are also a LOT more on the 360 as well, plus it's cheaper. RRoD issues are nearly gone now due to the Falcon motherboard, and the PS3 can't even use it's full power. It was even stated in an interview with the guy who directed or whatever Metal Gear Solid 4. He says the PS3 has hardware limits that they ran into. While games USE the cell processor, NONE of them run completely off of it. They use other components in the PS3 as well.

That's BAD because the other components can't keep up with the cell processor, meaning that games will never be as good as they say they will be, because of the hardware limitations of the PS3 components. Sony just doesn't talk about it so it looks like their console is the best. They also lie a LOT, commonly using cutscene pictures and passing them off as in-game screenshots, or rendering games at a higher resolution. There is proof here and here.

Overall, I'd say your best bet is to go with the Xbox 360.

the ps3 and the 360 are nearly identical in technology and the games they output will be nearly identical in future games, with some aspects excelling on each console.
ps3 also does not lock up randomly any more than a 360 does. some titles have issues but they're software related, not hardware.
RRoD problems are not guaranteed to be over because of some magical falcon motherboard. the gpu is what causes RRoD the the gpu is unchanged in the falcon motherboard, yea it's still the 90nm chip. the only difference in the gpu is that they added the heatsinks they forgot to put in the launch box, but that doesnt eradicate the problem completely, its a temporary fix/life extender if anything. the next motherboard is rumoured to get a 65nm gpu.

AquaToad; you can swap the ps3 hdd with any sata drive you want, can you say 500GB ps3?
