[X360] COD4 Map Pack

so who's got the variety map pack? i picked it up as soon as it went live and i'm loving it. its got a map for all types of players... creek for the snipers, chinatown for the tactical run-and-gunners, broadcast for big games, and killhouse for small games. my favorite would have to be chinatown as it suits my style of play the most.
side note; HAHA at the ps3 owners, you guys dont get it for at least 3 weeks.

I'll take it if I can get it for free, but I'm playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl and still playing Halo 3. Call of Duty 4 pails in comparison to those to magnificent games. Besides, CoD4 wasn't worth the $60 I paid for it; I'm not going to spend another $10 on it.

What did you not like about COD4? Short campaign? I haven't played Halo 3 since I got COD4.

the map pack should be arriving to ps3/pc on april 24th, or at least thats what the word is... i dont know if thats official or not

strange how something that pales in comparison is the KING of Live. halo cant even touch COD4 anymore.

I've never paid for a map pack, and I never plan on it. I paid $60 for the game itself.

you can disagree with me on a personal level but the numbers show that cod4 is the most played game on live for the last couple weeks. halo was the leader for the first little while then they started going back and forth, and cod emerged as the king... at least until the new map pack for H3 comes.

Exactly. For some reason, I consider Halo 3 the downfall of the Halo series. The campaign is fun the first time through, but then you realize there isn't one level you just want to play over and over again.

The multiplayer maps almost all suck in the game, besides Valhalla, Last Resort, and High Ground, but those RARELY get chosen in the game. The Heroic Map Pack was fun, but only one of the maps was worth any money, which was "Standoff."

I don't know why but something was just wrong with Halo 3. Maybe the maps but I can see Halo 3 going down as more and more games come out like Grand Theft Auto IV. Besides, Halo 3 has **** graphics for a STUPID reason (they use two frame buffers so that the light range is greater, and forget everything about basics like anti-aliasing and make the game look like **** on HDTVs where you can see all the jagged edges).

In my opinion, if I would've known about Halo 3, I would've paid maybe $30 for it, but getting the Limited Edition (One where discs got scratched) was a HUGE ripoff for a game that failed to meet even 1/2 the hype once people got the game and played it. CoD 4 on the other hand is great (plus I got the map pack for free for winning a contest on Joystiq) so I still play it.

The only reason I'm saying everything about Halo 3 is bad is because Halo 2 is still the most played game on Xbox 1. Sure there weren't many great games, but something about it is addicting that is completely gone in Halo 3 now. And then there is that thing where if one person leaves a game it goes to a black screen for hours before you can play a game again, and the slow times for finding a match. You'd think they would've fixed it from Halo 2 but they didn't... Not even a Custom Game Server list. THAT was a big letdown for me(I love things like that, games can last HOURS there compared to the 20 minutes with "Playlists.")

CoD 4 FTW.

I concur, a few things I'd like to point out that made Halo 3 gameplay crappy:

1. Melee - If you've played you know its broke.

2.Spartan Laser - Its the reason why Bungie excluded Blood Gulch/Coagulation, not to mention a 4 year old first time player could get kills with because its so easy to use.

3. Shield doors - promote camping and when mixed with 6+ maulers on the map, I RAGE.

1. Fixed - If you've played it in the past month or two you'd know that. I'll concede it's not perfect though.

I play CoD 4 online and I have to deal with people exploiting map glitches and for a while host migration problems. Am I the only one that sees that CoD 4's online system competes with Halo 2, not Halo 3? CoD 4 is a solid game I love to play with my friends, however, it doesn't really bring anything new to the table, like, for example, saved films, screenshots, file share, 4 player online co-op (the only reason to replay Halo 3's campaign), etc.

Valhalla is none the less Blood Gulch but smaller and with a hill dividing the map.
