So I was thinking, there are a lot of gamers who like third person and thee are also a lot who like first. Personally I like first. It would be a great selling point for the game if in option the allowed the user to choose, tell me what you think.

I think it would be best with both, more people would enjoy it

Eh, I'd rather it stayed with the regular "formula" ya know? Third person, chainsaws(no duel chainsaws), etc. etc.

I hope my Xbox 360 lasts until November

Yea but you could still have your third person and for us we could have first, it could switch from first to third when you post up and chainsaw.

I want to know from a game creator if this would be really hard todo?

it shouldn't be hard, most engines should support it, it would be a bit of programming at most.

well, probably they think it takes away from gameplay some. I mean it's an FPS, there isn't much demand for third person in FPSs, and it is hard (well not hard, it just takes time) to get a smart third person camera, one that doesn't get stuck behind walls and such. If it isn't a good camera people complain.

Yea thats maily the reason I do not like GoW or AoT, also because first makes you feel more in the game. I think if the game started out as an already set third person shooter it should have a first person addon to bring attention to the game, if AoT had a first person option I would buy the game, but it doesnt.

I think ALL shooter games should have 1st and 3rd options. and ALL games should have FULLY customizable button layout.

It would definitely help bring in the pc gamers and sell to uncertain gamers.

I agree. Control is the one thing we should be able to have for our games, which seems to be only on PCs at the moment.

If it ain't broke, why mess with it?

They might try to add the new mode but in the end screw up something that was good with the first one. Leave FPS to the UT series since it kicks arse there.

Eh, I just don't like additions in general. New multiplayer maps, continued story, and better online play is all I need.

Though the online play isn't really all that bad, four on four seems fine to me too, but I'm sure they could improve it someway. Hopefully chainsaw fights will be better than I'm thinking they will be.

It's Gears of War. Adding a first person view that works for the cover system and combat seems pointless. You can always play UT3.

I say keep it 3rd person only. I usually don't like 3rd person shooters, but it works really well for Gears, so why fix whats not broken?
