I've never played either of them, but judging from the looks and everything, Guitar Hero seems like it's more fun.

I don't own the games personally, but I have played them at my friends house and at my cousins house. I prefer rockband more... only because first of all I suck at guitar hero.
Plus I love using the drums in rockband, even though I'm not the best at it. It's still fun especially when you play with friends, it's like a real band. If one person get's off beat like the drummer the whole band screws up. =P

Rock Band...wayyyyy more fun. Guitar Hero 3 got too hard to the point where the game was not enjoyable. Harmonix #1 in rhythm music games since Frequency...and if you know Frequency, you know where it all started.

actually the presentation is better in rock band, it feel more like a real concert. plus having 4 players in a bad completely dominates the lacking multiplayer of the guitar hero series. the fact that you can play 4 player bands online is awesome too, sometimes its hard to gather up enough people to play a full band without preplanning it at least a few days in advance. also, for me, the RB strat is a better guitar controller than any of the GH guitars.
i've played both quite a bit and while GH is fun, rock band is way better. if Activision would let me use my strat on GH, i would buy both GH2 and GH3 to go with my deluxe RB pack.

Depends on if you plan to play mostly by yourself or with friends.

Most people I chill with have both.
I have neither. But I love to mooch. We usually play rock band. It gives you different experience

i personally just like playing guitar,rockband is easy for guitar,if you know how to use ur star power on rb,u can pass any song on expert.i struggled on gh3 expert,but rb im already on 40/58 songs on story,too easy,but non the less super fun.i go for both,love em both

i think that the drums are the best for rock band. Everything else is kind of lame. But I love Guitar hero.

Some people tend to complain GH3 is way too hard. Activision made GH harder because thats what people wanted. There are so very many people that could 100% FC any song on GH2, and if they made GH3 any easier than it is, you lose the hardcore fans that are tossing so much money into their organization. If the game is too hard, go down a level. Myself, I love a good challege. i've yet to beat GH3 on expert. Stuck on that damn raining blood, but I'll never give up just because it's hard. Isnt that what a video game is ****ing about? They're meant to be a challenge, not a sail through in one day game.

I still don't see how some people can still say it's too hard. I played online for the first time about a week ago, and loads of people can just kill you brutally on a song you may think your rather good at.
