I got the three red ring error on my 360.......and I'm actually excited!!!!!

yeah you read right.

I got the 3 red lights of death. My 360 doesn't work. But something good is coming out of it. I bought my 360 pro console back in March 2007 and bought a three year warranty on it at best buy. SO basically i can exchange with a new console. Here is the catch, I gotta send to in to a best buy repair center. But once it gets there, they are going to give me a $399 gift card in exchange of the console. So that means with this extra xmas money i have lying around.....I CAN GET A 360 ELITE! Yay!!!!!!!!!! so yeah i wont be able to play in the zb live matches for about 2 weeks. It's going to be a long two weeks.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!:

I decided to do the 'towel trick" to fix my 360.....and now it works!!!!!!!!!!! so yeah its supposed to last only about 5 days so after that I'll send it in. Now I can get into some ZB matches!!!!!

Actually, it's not cheating Best Buy... it's their policy for a refund for the full purchase price. Make sure you didn't get the Product Repair... or they'll just fix it. If you got the Product Replacement Plan, they will refund the money. Of course, in my case, they wouldn't refund my money, even though I bought the plan...

Hopefully you will have better luck than I did.

I called last night and they confirmed that I did buy the Product Replacement Plan. =D

Gah. Lucky bastards. I'm playing on like a 28" 480p Standard def TV... It's not great for gaming. I NEED HD. Lucky getting an Elite. Be sure it comes with the two free games, that means you should be getting the 65nm Falcon chips.

thanks I'll look for that specific one.

yah the TV i actually play on is a 20" Flat SDTV (480p). It uses component video even though even though it isn't HD. I'm content with it.

just for clarification SDTV is 480i, if you're using component cables but no hd you're using EDTV (enhanced definition) at 480p

the only differences now are the elite is black, and comes with a 120gb hdd.
premium is white with 20gb hdd, arcade is white with no hdd.
originally the elite was the only package to offer hdmi, but now all 3 do.
